Curatorial Opinion
In Denny Griffith’s 9.26 (2014), an amoeba-like form seems to tilt on its axis. The armature beneath the pink organism suggests that the form is taking a rest or posing, maybe on a stool. A long black wire adds extra support, similar in shape to a music stand or even a high heel. The amoeba in the foreground has a set of what might be perceived as teeth, or rotating blades. In the background, the vibrant yellow that fills the composition meets the ground with a brief blank space that showcases the textures of the print while creating an illusion of fog slowly rising behind a hill.
