“I think nature and its power are fantastic sources of analogy — they help narratives feel identifiable in the most straightforward and inclusive way. No matter your age or situation, I think everyone can appreciate a breeze, a scent, a color, a reflection, and identify with how those trigger feelings and emotions.”

About the Artwork

Haystack and the Columbus Museum of Art (CMA) are pleased to present two new limited editions by Clare Rojas — Journey of Souls and Just Take It All — released alongside the artist’s first major hometown exhibition, Clare Rojas: Returning, on view at CMA, September 18, 2026 through February 7, 2027.

Each edition is a meticulously layered silkscreen composed of 15 colors, translating the chromatic complexity and visual depth of Rojas’s paintings into elegant print forms. Based on the two paintings featured in the exhibition, Journey of Souls and Just Take It All reinterpret these original works through distinct processes within traditional printmaking. In doing so, the editions become an extension of Rojas’s exploration of color, form, and imagery while offering audiences a new point of entry into the exhibition and the broader context of her practice.

Birds, moons, suns, tides, and flowers — archetypal forms that recur throughout Rojas’s work — serve as symbols of memory, renewal, and the cyclical rhythms of destruction and growth, death and rebirth. In Journey of Souls and Just Take It All, these recurring forms take on new resonance that is at once deeply personal and universally familiar.

Proceeds from this edition will support the Columbus Museum of Art.

Curator's Note

In Just Take It All, Clare Rojas presents a solitary female figure kicking her shoes toward a tornado in the distance.

As Rojas herself has observed, nature and its power are fantastic sources of analogy — helping narratives feel identifiable in the “most straightforward and inclusive way.” Just Take It All extends Clare Rojas’s visual language through a dynamic composition of color, pattern, and recurring symbolic forms. Produced as a meticulously layered silkscreen of 15 colors, the edition translates the depth and complexity of the original painting into a refined print form.

Created on the occasion of Clare Rojas: Returning — the artist’s first major hometown exhibition at the Columbus Museum of Art — Just Take It All carries the particular resonance of a work made at a moment of personal and artistic homecoming.
